9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Benefit screening of documentary Heroes behind the Badge

There will be a screening of the documentary Heroes behind the Badge on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 7:30pm  at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn. The doors will open at 6:30pm.

Tickets are $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under 12 years old. All proceeds go to the Metro NY branch of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) and the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund. Tickets can be purchased here.

The film Heroes behind the Badge tells the stories of law enforcement officers in the line of fire — some who survived and some who did not.

Fire Service Survivors’ Conference

The 8th Annual Fire Service Survivors’ Conference will take place from Sunday, April 14, 2013 to Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Embassy Suites North in Phoenix, Arizona.

Survivors will attend workshops on a variety of topics related to grief, wellness, self-care, practical skills, and leisure. They will spend time getting to know one another in small groups, during meals, sitting around the pool, and at an evening reception.The conference is open to adult survivors of firefighters who have been honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Spouses, significant others, parents, siblings, and adult children are invited to attend. Lt. John Bellew Memorial 5-K and Kids’ Fun Run

The 2013 Lt. John Bellew Memorial 5-K and Kids’ Fun Run will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Pearl River, NY. Please click here to register for the run.

John Bellew was one of the FDNY firefighters killed in the line of duty on Black Sunday – January 23, 2005. 

The cost to participate is $25.00 for the 5-K Run – $12.00 for Kids’ Fun Run. Funds raised will go to the John Bellew Memorial Fund, which pays for scholarships to children of deceased members of the NYPD and FDNY. Please register by11:59pm on Thursday, April 11, 2013.

Eighth Annual James D. McNaughton Benefit

The 8th annual benefit to honour Staff Sgt. James D. McNaughton will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 1:00pm–8:00pm at Mulcahy’s Pub in Wantagh.

There will be food, drink specials, live music from the Nerds, giveaways and raffles, all to benefit the James McNaughton Foundation and help wounded warriors and those devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Admission is $20.00.

James “Jimmy” McNaughton, 27, was the first NYPD officer to give his life for his country while serving as a soldier in Iraq. He was shot by a sniper on August 2, 2005.
