9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Every year St. Michael’s Cemetery and the FF Christopher Santora Foundation host the 2-mile Remember Me Run in honor and celebration of the police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel who sacrificed their lives to save others on 9/11 at the World Trade Center and who have died because of their work on the site of the World Trade Center in the aftermath of the attacks. A ceremony to honor those rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who have died of illnesses contracted from their work at the World Trade Center will be held at 3:30pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 in St. Paul’s Churchyard. William Thompson, Mitchell Wallace, and Thomas Jurgens, New York State Supreme Court officers killed while helping people escape the World Trade Center, will be honored at a ceremony at the Riverfront Green in Peekskill on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 5:00pm. St. Patrick’s Cathedral will mark the fifteenth anniversary of the World Trade Center terror attacks with a memorial Mass at 3:00pm on Saturday, September 10, 2016 for the 343 FDNY firefighters who were killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and the 127 firefighters who have died of World Trade Center-related illnesses since.
