FDNY Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo was passionate about improving his firefighting skills. He responded to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and spent 6 months working in the recovery effort. Give blood in remembrance of the Boston Marathon bombing and shootout victims on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 9:00am to 3:00pm in Watertown, MA. The Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team will host a flag football game on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 6:00pm at the Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange, NJ. Players will include rescue and recovery workers from the World Trade Center recovery operation, NFL players and amputees from the Wounded Warrior team. The annual Remember Me Run at St. Michael’s Cemetery will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 7, 2013. A project of the Christopher A. Santora Scholarship Fund, the Remember Me Run helps the children of rescue and recovery workers who have died of illnesses contracted from searching for survivors and human remains in the wreckage of the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks of 2001. The New York City Bar Justice Center is offering free legal clinics for individuals needing assistance in filing claims under the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF). Clinics will be facilitated by volunteer lawyers who will provide free counsel and advice to people who would like to file a claim under the VCF without an attorney.
