The Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team will host a flag football game on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 6:00pm at the Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange, NJ. The annual Remember Me Run at St. Michael’s Cemetery will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 7, 2013. A project of the Christopher A. Santora Scholarship Fund, the Remember Me Run helps the children of rescue and recovery workers who have died of illnesses contracted from searching for survivors and human remains in the wreckage of the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks of 2001. The New York City Bar Justice Center is offering free legal clinics for individuals needing assistance in filing claims under the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF). Clinics will be facilitated by volunteer lawyers who will provide free counsel and advice to people who would like to file a claim under the VCF without an attorney. The fourth annual Big Apple Run for the Warriors will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2013. The Big Apple Run is a 3-mile race in New York City benefitting members of the Armed Forces wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, their families, and families of the fallen. The NYPD Emerald Society will host Together as One for One — a benefit to assist the family of PO Richard Donohue with medical bills – on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at Legends NYC.
