The deadline to register for FEMA assistance has been extended to April 13, 2013 for residents living in 13 counties labeled disaster areas. All five boroughs are disaster areas.
Federal aid may include money for rental assistance, home repairs, and other needs not covered by insurance.

Staten Island Borough President James P. Molinaro will host “A Day of Financial Recovery with Dignity” for Staten Island residents devastated by Hurricane Sandy on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at New Dorp High School.
The event is being convened by “Operation HOPE” and is sponsored by the Red Cross, and will be attended by JP Morgan Chase, FEMA, the Small Business Administration, the United Way, and the IRS.
