9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. NYU’s School of Medicine will conduct a lung, heart, and mental health research study for young New York City residents, aged 13-21, to evaluate the impact of the 9/11 World Trade Center terrorist attacks on public health. Our friends at Voices of September 11th will host their annual information forum for September 11th family members, rescue and recovery workers and survivors on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Marriott Downtown Hotel near the World Trade Center site. The deadline for members of the NYPD to file a Notice of Participation with the Police Pension Fund has been extended to September 11, 2015. Active and retired NYPD officers who participated in the rescue, recovery and clean-up efforts but did not file the notice before the original 2010 deadline will now be able to do so in order to protect their presumptive eligibility for accident disability pension benefits.
