9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The 14th annual Shawn M. Nassaney Race/Walk will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014. This year’s race will start at 9:00am with a children’s run (1 loop) following the adult run. After the race, a breakfast of eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, coffee and juice will be provided. Teams of five or more are encouraged to participate. The top five runners will determine the team score. The annual Walk with Joe will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 10:00am in Monmouth Battlefield State Park in Manalapan, NJ. Patrick “Joe” Driscoll was aboard Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. Along with the other passengers and crew, Joe fought back against the terrorists and prevented Flight 93 from hitting its target in Washington, D.C. The walk also honors Christopher S. The annual Father Mychal Judge Walk of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014. The event begins with a 9:00 recital of the Rosary and a 9:30am Mass at Judge’s church, St. Francis of Assisi. When Mass is over, at approximately 10:15am, the walk begins from the quarters of Father Mychal’s firehouse, Engine 1/Ladder 24, across the street from the church. The Tri-State 9/11 Tribute will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014 – Sunday, September 13, 2014. The Tri-State 9/11 Tribute was established to honor first responders and armed forces, past and present. Events begin Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 7:30am with a Flag Raising Ceremony at the City Library. Bargemusic will hold a free commemorative concert honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 8:00pm. Doors will open at 7:30pm. There is no reserved seating for this concert. This year’s Bargemusic Memorial Concert will feature works by Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Ligeti and Bottoms. A concert will be held on the Plaza of the 9/11 Memorial on the evening of Friday, September 12, 2014. The time has not yet been announced. Musicians will include the Peace of Heart Choir; “National Anthem Girl” Janine Stange; the Pipes and Drums of the NYPD, PAPD, and FDNY and musicians from the faculty of the Tone Academy.
