The tenth annual Dan Gallagher BBQ will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. A memorial Mass will be held in Wills Chapel Hall before the BBQ. The Mass will begin at 12:00 noon.
To register for the BBQ, please click here. Tickets are $20.00. The first 100 people to buy tickets will receive a signature BBQ t-shirt. Proceeds will go towards the Dan Gallagher Memorial Wing at DeSales.
In addition to great food, Tony Billone and Episode will perform live. Also new this year, a kid’s moon bounce and updates about the Dan Gallagher Wing.

Dan “Reds” Gallagher, 23, was killed at Cantor Fitzgerald during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He was a hugely popular DeSales student, and his legacy lives on at the school he loved.

The Captain Martin Egan 5-K Memorial Run will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Midland Beach, Staten Island.

The second annual Friends of Firefighters Dodgeball Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013, from 12:00pm-4:00pm.
This is a family-friendly event. In addition to the dodgeball, there will be a BBQ, kids’ activities, beer and music.
For spectators, tickets are $50.00 per adult. Children are free with a paying adult. RSVP by paying in advance – there will be no tickets. All funds raised help Friends of Firefighters provide services.
Players need to be in teams of 6 people. The cost to play is $300.00 per team. Creative uniforms are encouraged. Teams need to register at by June 7, 2013. To register, fill out the form found here and return it with full payment.

The 5-K honoring FF Jeff Giordano will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Mt. Loretto on Staten Island. The race starts at 9:00am, with the free Kids’ Run beginning at 10:15am. Jeff’s Run is the second leg of the James Halverson Memorial Award.

Jeff Giordano, a decorated FDNY firefighter, husband and father of three, was also an avid runner. He was the Vice President of the New York Firefighters’ Burn Center Foundation and was instrumental in creating the Children’s Playroom at the Cornell Burn Center which was later dedicated in his name.
Contributions to Jeff’s Run and other activities have enabled the FF Jeff Giordano Children’s Playroom at the Cornell Burn Center to implement many programs designed to aid children of burn injuries. Activities such as Dances with Wood, art and music therapy, Camp Phoenix and burn survivor support groups have enabled patients to move beyond their physical and emotional limitations, assisting them in returning to their daily lives.

The twelfth annual Lt. Joe Gullickson Memorial Picnic will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Nansen’s Park on Staten Island.
There will be games, softball, volleyball, basketball, bocci ball, a playground, horseshoes, activities, prizes and a raffle drawing for $2,500.00. Great food and drink too.
The fee to attend is $40.00 per adult; $10.00 per child aged 6-14 and free for children under 6. Proceeds fund the Gullickson-McGuire Memorial Schoarship.
Lt. Joseph Gullickson of FDNY Ladder 101 gave his life on September 11, 2001.
