9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Join the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network for a run in Prospect Park on Saturday, April 12, 2014 to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research. Pancreatic cancer was recently added to the list of WTC-related cancers and is rising among rescue and recovery workers at the World Trade Center. The run begins at 10:00am. On Monday March 31, 2014, from 9:00am onward, twelve FDNY firehouses from Staten Island will hold a one-day March Madness tournament to benefit the Firefighter Jeff Giordano Children’s Playroom at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Burn Center. The first game begins at 9:00am. The championship game will begin at 7:00pm. FF Jeff Giordano was killed in the line of duty during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. The twelfth annual BC Joseph Grzelak Bowl-a-thon will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Rab’s County Lanes in Staten Island. The time will be announced.
