9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The exhibit Janet Hamlin: Sketches from Guantanamo will open on Thursday, September 11, 2014 and will be on view through November 21, 2014 in the Lora Robins Gallery of Design from Nature in Richmond. Janet Hamlin has worked as a courtroom sketch artist at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base tribunals since 2006, documenting the trials of the detainees. Artist as Witness: The 9/11 Responders a collection of sketches of the recovery operation at the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks, can be seen at the New York City Police Museum’s temporary location through Saturday, October 25, 2014. The annual Firefighter Fire Museum Cook-Off will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at New York’s Fire Museum on Spring Street. Sample dishes cooked by firefighters from firehouses around the city as they compete for the title “Best FDNY Chef” and enjoy wine or beer from an open bar.
