9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The exhibit Janet Hamlin: Sketches from Guantanamo will open on Thursday, September 11, 2014 and will be on view through November 21, 2014 in the Lora Robins Gallery of Design from Nature in Richmond. Janet Hamlin has worked as a courtroom sketch artist at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base tribunals since 2006, documenting the trials of the detainees. A Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian award that Congress can bestow, has been awarded to the brave passengers and crew of United Flight 93. The medal will be on display at the Flight 93 National Memorial from Thursday, September 11, 2014 until Sunday, September 14, 2014. The medal will return to public view when the visitor center of the Flight 93 National Memorial is completed in 2015.Find out more »
On Thursday, September 11, 2014, from 6:00am to 6:00pm, Michigan International Speedway (MIS) and Michigan Blood will host the Spirit of America Blood Drive. The annual event pays tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 by collecting hundreds of lifesaving blood donations.
