9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The deadline to register for a September 11th Victims’ Compensation Fund (Zadroga) claim for KNOWN symptoms, diagnoses and disabilities is October 2013.
The deadline to register for a September 11th Victims’ Compensation Fund claim for any NEW symptoms & diagnoses is October 2016.
There are THREE steps involved in making a claim: 1. You must register (this is easy). 2. You must establish eligibility and receive your claim number. 3. You must apply for compensation. The process is complex — 80% of claimants are using attorneys — but it is possible to register without an attorney.
When making any inquiry about your case, you must have your claim number. (Note: a claim number can also be called a “claimant identification number” or a “case number”.)
