The 2013 Dick Vitale Gala for the benefit of the V Foundation will take place on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 6:30pm at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, FL. The evening will honor Jim Calhoun, Bobby Bowden and Bill Self.
The V Foundation assists in cancer research — they just made a $1,000,000 grant to research blood cancers in workers at the World Trade Center recovery effort.

The Retired Detectives of NY’s Dinner Cruise will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013. The boat leaves from the World Yacht Marina in Manhattan. The event will begin at 6:00pm and the boat returns to the dock at 11:00pm.
A fee of $100.00 includes a dinner buffet, open bar, and dancing to music by “Risky Business”. RDNY has the entire vessel, which makes it a private party. The boat will leave the dock, travel south to the tip of Manhattan, and then head up the East River. A stop at the Statue of Liberty is always a highlight of the evening.

The Esophageal Cancer Action Network (ECAN) will kick off Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month with the Cancer Dancer Gala by hosting Dancing under the Stars on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 6:30pm – 11:00pm at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.
An entry fee of $150.00 will bring you a seated dinner, dancing, full bar service, a large silent auction and the chance to fight esophageal cancer in a fun and festive evening.

The Rick Thorpe Heart to Heart Gala, which was to have been held on Saturday, February 9, 2013, was cancelled due to the winter storm that day. The new date is Friday, March 8, 2013, from 6:00pm to 10:30pm at the Ludlow Country Club in Ludlow, Massachusetts.

The 12th annual Sean Caton Memorial Foundation Mardi Gras Ball will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Park Ridge Marriott in New Jersey. The evening will begin with cocktails at 7:00pm. Dinner will begin at 8:00pm.
As always, the evening will be filled with music, dancing, Cajun cuisine, auctions, prizes and surprises. Black tie is optional – masks and beads are encouraged!

The evening honours Christopher Sean Caton, who was killed in the September 11th terrorist attacks. He was 34 years old and worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 105th floor of One World Trade Center.
The hope of the Sean Caton Memorial Foundation is to keep memories of Sean remain as vivacious as the life he led through various fundraising events that assist local charitable causes, especially those that aid children with terminal illnesses. Another goal is to provide an annual scholarship to both a female and a male graduating senior from Sean’s high school alma mater, Glen Rock High School.
