Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Rockers for Jake

The Carl V. Bini Fund and Briana’s Dream are hosting a benefit for Jake Schron on Saturday, April 28, 2013 at 3:00pm at Arena Steakhouse & Lounge in Staten Island.

A $20.00 donation (kids under 12 are free) gets you entry, great music and a chance to help little Jake Schron, who just had a heart transplant on Saturday, March, 24, 2013 after waiting 100 days on the transplant list. There will be a 50/50 drawing and a raffle for a $500 Ink Couture gift certificate.

Stand up for 9/11 – a comedy fundraiser for Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial

A comedy fundraiser for Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial will be held at 8:00pm Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Radisson Hotel in Covington. Doors will open at 7:00pm.

Radio Hall of Famer Gary Burbank, Mike Armstrong, Loraine Braun, Dave Hyden and Rob Wilfong will provide two hours of laughs for those age 16 and older.

The evening’s events will also include a cash bar, raffles, and a 50/50.

Tickets are available in advance for $20.00 apiece at the Crescent Springs City Building. The cost to buy tickets at the door will be $25.00.

The piece of I-beam from the World Trade Center that will form the heart of the Northern Kentucky 9/11 Memorial will be on display during the evening.  The Memorial will be built next to the Veterans’ Memorial in Crescent Springs City Park, at the intersection of Collins Road and Buttermilk Pike.

Danny Suhr Bowl

This year’s Danny Suhr Bowl will be played at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 21, 2013 at Brooklyn‘s Kings Bay Field.

The FDNY Football Club will take on the Brooklyn Mariners in honour of FF Danny Suhr, who captained both teams and played linebacker for both teams. Suhr made the supreme sacrifice at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Tickets are $10.00 for adults. Children are admitted free. There will also be a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds benefit the Danny Suhr Scholarship Fund

After the game, at 4:00pm, a party will be hosted by Mariner’s Inn. Half of the Inn’s takings will also go to the Danny Suhr Scholarship Fund.

Brent Woodall Foundation’s All in for Autism Casino Night

The Brent Woodall Foundation is dedicated to empowering families affected by autism by providing them with the tools they need to help their own children. This year’s Got Heart, Give Hope Gala will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 6:30pm at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC. The evening’s hosts will be September 11th family member and retired FDNY captain John Vigiano, Sr. and Gary Sinise.
