9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The NYPD will hold a parade in honor of the 23 NYPD officers lost during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and the 99 who have died of site-related illnesses afterwards. The ceremony to remember the John Jay students and alumni killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the 9/11 Memorial at the east end of the New Building Student Dining Hall. Sixty-eight students will each place a lighted candle at the base of the 9/11 Memorial in honor of the 68 students and alumni of John Jay who were murdered on 9/11. William Thompson, Mitchell Wallace, and Thomas Jurgens, New York State Supreme Court officers killed while helping people escape the World Trade Center, will be honored at a ceremony at the Riverfront Green in Peekskill on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 5:00pm. The Garden of Reflection in Lower Makefield, PA will honor all 2,973 people killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, including the 9 people from Lower Makefield and 18 from Bucks County in several ceremonies on the weekend of the anniversary.
