9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The Kingston Fire Department will hold a ceremony honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 at 8:30am on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Fireman’s Park. On Thursday, September 11, 2014, hundreds of police officers, firefighters, emergency medical workers, border & customs agents will form two unique motorcycle processions that will meet at the Peace Arch to pay tribute to those who were killed by terrorists on September 11, 2001 and those who have been sickened by the aftermath of the attacks. The 14th annual Shawn M. Nassaney Race/Walk will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014. This year’s race will start at 9:00am with a children’s run (1 loop) following the adult run. After the race, a breakfast of eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, coffee and juice will be provided. Teams of five or more are encouraged to participate. The top five runners will determine the team score.
