9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. FDNY Lt. Jon Sezak is currently a patient at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, being treated for a World Trade Center-related blood disorder. His illness requires regular blood and platelet transfusions. In order for Lt. Sezak to receive them, all designated blood donations must be made in the Blood Donor Room at Memorial Sloan Kettering, which is open Friday through Monday from 8:30am to 3:00pm and on Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30am to 7:00pm. The PO Thomas Gorman Memorial Blood Drive will take place during the month of December at the Somerset Medical Center in New Jersey. The drive honors Port Authority Police Officer Thomas Gorman, who was killed in the line of duty during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
