9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Retired FF. Patrick Finegan (formerly of Engine 69) is currently a patient at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City being treated for World Trade Center related cancer. He needs regular blood and platelet transfusions. Donations of blood or platelets would be greatly appreciated. To benefit Patrick, all donations must be made in the Blood Donor Room of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and designated for him. Support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and have a day of fun for the whole family at Baldwin Park on Saturday, October 25, 2014. The day begins with the half-mile kids fun run at 9:00am. The fee to run is $10.00. The 5-K run/walk for adults begins at 9:30am with a $20.00 fee to participate. The second annual Harvest Dinner to benefit Be the Hero for a Hero will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Warwick Valley Country Club. Be the Hero for a Hero was founded to find a bone marrow match for Firefighter Roy Chelsen, who suffered from site-related multiple myeloma, from which he died in January 2011.
