Somerset Medical Center in NJ is holding the annual PO Tom Gorman Memorial Blood Drive throughout the month of December at the Somerville hospital to honor Port Authority Police Officer Thomas Gorman, a regular blood donor at the hospital who was killed saving others during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is hosting a bone marrow drive for Owen Hogan, FF Jimmy Martinez, and everyone who needs a bone marrow transplant on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 9:00am-4:00pm at the Tunnel to Towers Hurricane Relief Center on Staten Island. 2-year-old Owen Hogan, son of FDNY firefighter Tim Hogan of Engine 216, has aplastic anemia, a bone marrow disorder in which bone marrow stops producing blood cells.
