9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The third annual FDNY 343 Ride will take place on Monday, September 15, 2013 and Tuesday, September 16, 2013. More than 100 cyclists are expected for the 135-mile journey from the World Trade Center site to Montauk Point Lighthouse on Long Island. The FDNY 343 Ride was founded in September 2011 to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters killed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. The fourth annual Heroes and Hope Century Bike Ride, a 62.5-mile (a metric century) bike ride over the route taken by United Flight 93, honors the victims of the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. Cycle for Survival is an indoor cycling event held nationwide to fund rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. This year’s NYC dates are the weekend of March 2-3, 2013. More than half the people diagnosed with cancer have a rare cancer.
