9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The 9th Annual Gregg Reidy Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Play begins at 9:00am. The 16th Annual History Alumni BBQ will be held after the tournament. On Monday March 31, 2014, from 9:00am onward, twelve FDNY firehouses from Staten Island will hold a one-day March Madness tournament to benefit the Firefighter Jeff Giordano Children’s Playroom at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Burn Center. The first game begins at 9:00am. The championship game will begin at 7:00pm. FF Jeff Giordano was killed in the line of duty during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. The annual Wall-O’Mahony Basketball Game at Johns Hopkins University will take place against Muhlenberg on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1:00pm in the Goldfarb Gymnasium. As in years past, the Wall-O’Mahony reception will follow the game. Glen Wall & Matt O’Mahony both played basketball for the Blue Jays and both friends were murdered at Cantor Fitzgerald in Tower One of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Glen Wall was 38. William “Billy” Minardi was 46 and working for Cantor Fitzgerald when he was murdered by terrorists on September 11, 2001.
