9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. There will be a benefit to offset the medical costs of James Sanger on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the Flagship Brewery in Staten Island. James, aged 2, was born with hydronephrosis, a serious kidney disease. He has also developed trachomalacia, a condition that causes collapse of the trachea. Detective Louis Fernandez of Emergency Service Squad 6 and the Squad’s union delegate died on October 16, 2014 of cancer contracted through his work on the rescue and recovery from 9/11. On Friday, October 24, 2014 at 7:00pm a fundraiser will be held for FDNY Lieutenant Tom Bohn, who was severely injured in a motorcycle accident on Medal Day 2014. Lt. Bohn was hospitalized for several months for his injuries and will require extensive rehabilitation. The fundraiser will be held at The Main Event in Farmingdale. Retired FF Patrick Finegan (formerly of Engine 69) is currently a patient at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City being treated for World Trade Center related cancer.
