This is not currently a disease that has been officially linked to the World Trade Center site after the terrorist attacks\, but as his family has no history of the disease\, it is possible that his work at the site is responsible for his illness. His doctors have estimated that he has only months to live if a kidney is not found. \nFF O’Shea was an officer in the NYPD at the time of the attacks. \nFF O’Shea’s blood type is O. His donor would also need to be type O. \nPotential kidney donors can be evaluated as candidates at North Shore LIJ’s Transplant Center.  The evaluation expenses will be completely covered by the recipient’s insurance. Contact Barbara Wrynn at 516-472-5840 for further information and to schedule an appointment.
