The Shirley Fiterman Art Center at Borough of Manhattan Community College in Lower Manhattan is hosting Top of the World, an exhibit on the rebuilding of the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks. The Commissioning of the USS Somerset, the Navy ship honoring the crew and passengers of United Flight 93, will take place in Philadelphia on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Colin Flood, who is 7, has been battling leukemia for the last two years. He is the son of Kevin Flood, a retired firefighter from Engine 210, who served with the FDNY during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Colin was first diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia on December 24, 2012. He received chemotherapy and then underwent a bone marrow transfusion. Early registration for the second annual 9/11 Memorial 5-K Run/Walk and Family Day is open now. The event will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014. All funds raised from the Run/Walk will directly support the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
