The Red Bandanna Run honors Welles Remy Crowther, “the man in the red bandanna” — a broker from Sandler O’Neill who saved many lives on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center. Lower Manhattan’s Fall Community Planting Day will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 10:00am to noon, rain or shine. The public is welcome to stop by and help plant thousands of tulip bulbs. Conshohocken’s September 11th Memorial Committee will hold a 5-K race as part of its ongoing effort to raise $75,000 for the construction of a September 11th Memorial Monument at Washington Fire Company No. 1. The race will begin at Matsonford Bridge at 10:00am and conclude at Washington Fire Company.
