Wake for FF Robert J. McCarthy, FDNY (ret.)

On Friday April 29, 2016, Robert McCarthy died of World Trade Center pancreatic cancer. Because he had retired before September 11, 2001, his death is not considered to be a line-of-duty death.
FF Robert J. McCarthy retired in 1996 after a 27-year career with the Corona Tigers Engine 289. In 2001, he responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and worked the recovery effort.
The FDNY is asked to turn out as if it was a line-of-duty death.
His wake will be held at the William E. Law Funeral Home in Massapequa on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
His funeral Mass will take place at Maria Regina Church in Seaford on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10:00am.
