Wake for FDNY Lt. Gordon (Matt) Ambelas, LODD

The wake for FDNY Lt. Gordon (Matt) Ambelas, who was killed in a burning high-rise building on July 5, 2014, will be held at the Casey McCallum Rice Funeral Home in Staten Island on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
His funeral is scheduled for 11:00am on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St. Clare’s Church.
Lt. Ambelas is survived by his wife, Nanette; and two daughters, Gina, 5, and Gaby, 7. The FDNY has set up a fund for the girls’ education. They are accepting donations at their 9 MetroTech Center headquarters. Checks should be made out to the “Ambelas Children’s Education Fund.”
