Huntington Ingalls Industries, U.S. Naval Institute and the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation will honor the victims of 9/11 and fallen military heroes with a wreath-laying ceremony led by the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 2002 on the US Naval Memorial’s outdoor plaza.
Also, an exhibit of photographs features USS NEW YORK (LPD-21), the naval ship forged with steel from the World Trade Center towers.
New York-based photographer C.R. Richardson’s work includes dramatic images of the ship, as well as candid shots of the crew and first responders who sailed aboard NEW YORK when she made a triumphant entry into her namesake city for the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
