Seminar – Robert Jay Lifton on the Psychology of Drone Warfare

The John Jay Center on Terrorism will present their last seminar of the year on Friday, December 13, from 3:00 to 5:00 in Room 630 of John Jay College.

The guest speaker will be the research psychiatrist Robert Jay Lifton. He is professor emeritus at John Jay College, after a career spent at Yale and Harvard.

His wide-ranging work includes studies of Hiroshima survivors, posttraumatic stress disorder among Vietnam veterans, the atrocities committed by Nazi-era doctors, and the Japanese cult, Aum Shinrikyo. His latest book is entitled Witness to a Violent Century.

Lifton’s current work deals with the psychology of drone warfare, which will also be the topic of his presentation.
