Conshohocken’s September 11th Memorial Committee will hold a 5-K race as part of its ongoing effort to raise $75,000 for the construction of a September 11th Memorial Monument at Washington Fire Company No. 1.
The race will begin at Matsonford Bridge at 10:00am and conclude at Washington Fire Company.
The fee to run is $25.00 (which includes a T-shirt); $20.00 (no T-shirt); and rises to $30.00 after October 14. To register, please click here. All proceeds generated by October 19’s Conshohocken Bridge to Ridge Run will go toward the installation of the September 11th Memorial on the grounds of the Washies firehouse at West Elm and Fayette Streets. A piece of steel from the World Trade Center will be the highlight of the Memorial.
The steel was a gift from the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund, a not-for–profit honoring Terry Farrell, a member of FDNY’s Rescue 4, who was killed in the line of duty during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
A variety of contribution options for Conshohocken’s September 11th Memorial Monument exist, with prices as low at $100. Donation checks made payable to Conshohocken September 11th Memorial Fund may be mailed to P.O. Box 719, Conshohocken, PA 19428. For more information about the Memorial, please call 610-825-7072 or 610-828-4293.
