Remembrance, Reflection and Resolve – Services for the Fifteenth Anniversary of 9/11 – New York, NY

September 11, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

St. Bartholomew’s marks the fifteenth anniversary of 9/11 to remember a day that many among us will never forget. Attendees will reflect upon the attacks of that day and their aftermath, honoring the 2,973 people who were murdered and the people who responded. Together, we resolve to create a safer and more just world: this is the ongoing work and hope of all of us, including a new generation that was not yet born in 2001.

At the center of the remembrance and reflection is the return of St. Bart’s then rector, the Rev. William McD. Tully, to preach at 9:00am and 11:00am and to teach in the Forum at 10:00am. He will share the Forum with the Hon. George Mitchell, former senator and international negotiator, for conversation concerning the meaning of 9/11 for our community of faith, both on that grim day fifteen years ago and in our time.

There will be special music with all of choirs at both services, and we will welcome back the FDNY firehouses closest to St. Bart’s.

All are invited.
