Mozart’s “Requiem” for Those Killed on 9/11 – Manhattan

September 10, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The Foundation for the Revival of Classical Culture will present four performances of Mozart’s Requiem near or on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks in four locations – the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Morristown, NJ — in memory of those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack and its aftermath. The Manhattan performance will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 8:00pm at St. Bartholomew’s Church.

The concerts will feature a performance of Mozart’s Requiem with African-American spirituals and other works, and will be performed by the 80-member Schiller Institute NYC Community Chorus with a 42-piece orchestra. The scheduled soloists are soprano Indira Mahajan, mezzo-soprano Mary Phillips, tenor Everett Suttle, and bass Philip Cutlip. Performances will use the Verdi proper tuning of A =432Hz, selected by Verdi as best for the human voice.

Admission is free, but there is a suggested donation of $10.00.

Reservations are recommended. To learn more or to reserve a place, please click here or call 718-709-8722.
