9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Lt. Joe Gullickson Memorial Picnic

The Lt. Joe Gullickson Memorial Picnic will take place on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 6:00pm at Staten Island’s Nansen Park. The picnic will be held rain or shine.

The admission fee is $40.00 per adult, $10.00 each for children aged 6-14, and free for children 5 and under. Funds raised will support The Maverick Foundation’s scholarships. The Foundation has awarded approximately $276,240, as of June 2014 in total scholarships. They currently provide scholarship opportunities to Moore Catholic High School and Saint Peter’s High School.

Admission includes all-day BBQ, unlimited beer and soda, Italian ices, live music by the Fine Line, and many children’s activities, including rides, softball, horseshoes, basketball, bocci ball, pony rides, a petting zoo, clown and face painting. There are some great raffle prizes.

Joe Gullickson was an FDNY Lieutenant with Ladder Company 101 in Red Hook when he sacrificed his life during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 while saving the lives of others.
