9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Groundbreaking of World Trade Center Memorial Walkway of Southern Illinois

The ground-breaking ceremony for the World Trade Center Memorial Walkway of Southern Illinois in Belleville will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
The memorial will be located at 1125 S. Illinois Street near Firehouse No. 4. The land is city-owned.
A large steel column from the World Trade Center will form the memorial’s centerpiece. The new memorial will also contain a Flight 93 Memorial, a Pentagon-shaped memorial and a timeline of the terrorist attacks.
