9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Fundraiser to build Scranton memorial for Gerard P. “Jerry” Moran

A fundraiser to build a memorial plaque for Scanton resident Gerard P. Moran will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 6:00pm-10:00pm at the Polish Club in Scranton. Moran was murdered in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. He is one of 5 Pentagon victims whose remains were never found.

Jerry Moran grew up in North Scranton and graduated from from Scranton Technical High School. He was working in the Pentagon as a videographer under contract to  the Navy on the day of the attacks. He had also been a Naval combat photographer  for several years.

Family and childhood friends of Mr. Moran are planning to raise $4,000 to put a black granite memorial plaque honoring their friend in Providence Square.

Tickets to the event will be $10.00, which includes food and beverages.

Donation checks can be made payable to the “Jerry Moran Fund.”
