9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Fundraiser for Police Officer Owen Ortiz

$20.00Police Officer Owen Ortiz has stage 4 cancer. It began in his cheek last year, and it has now spread to his head, neck and throat. Officer Ortiz has a wife and a 4-year-old daughter. Officer Ortiz’ cancer required daily radiation treatments. After several weeks, his NYPD benefits for cancer treatment expired. Ortiz has incurred many out-of-pocket expenses.
His fellow officers of the 49th Precinct will host a fundraiser for him on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at the Pine Bar & Grill in the Bronx.
A $20.00 admission fee will get food and music. There will be raffles — prizes include items from New York sports teams. The grand raffle prize is a private concert by Katy Perry.
