9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School is hosting an exhibit called Heroic Long Island. The exhibit pays tribute to Long Islanders who have acted with unusual valour.

On display are photos and artifacts from a number of Long Island heroes, including several FDNY firefighters and NYPD officers killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and Navy SEAL Michael Murphy, winner of the Medal of Honor.
