Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. The 2013 Dick Vitale Gala for the benefit of the V Foundation will take place on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 6:30pm at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, FL. The evening will honor Jim Calhoun, Bobby Bowden and Bill Self.

The V Foundation assists in cancer research — they just made a $1,000,000 grant to research blood cancers in workers at the World Trade Center recovery effort.
