9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

August 2, 2014 @ 7:30 am - 11:00 am

Slots are available for the second annual National Fallen Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Springfield, Missouri. The event is a commemorative stair climb to honor the 343 members of the Fire Department of New York who were killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Check-in begins at 7:30am. The ceremony is at 8:00am, and the climb begins at 8:30am.

Participants will climb the stairs of Hammons Field multiple times to equal 110 stories, representing the number of floors in the World Trade Center. Firefighters will have the option to start in full turn-out gear and carry equipment, or may wear work uniforms or gym clothes and simply walk in tribute to the fallen firefighters.

The fee to climb is $30.00. All climbers will receive a photo of one of the fallen firefighters. Registration fees will be directed to the NFFF to assist families and coworkers of firefighters killed in the line of duty.
