9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Remembrance ceremony – Swainsboro, GA

September 11, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

On Friday, September 11, 2015 at 9:00am, there will be a remembrance ceremony at East Georgia State College at the flagpole in front of the Luck Flanders Gambrell Center. During a short ceremony, a wreath will be placed at the flagpole in memory of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

This event is open to the community and all EGSC students, faculty, staff, family and friends. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear red, white and blue to the ceremony. Military students are asked to wear their uniforms if possible.

Refreshments will be provided by Student Life.

During the week prior to September 11, a “Where Were You” memory board will be set up in the Military Resource Center, which is located in the PE Complex (Room D147). Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to visit the Center to fill out a card describing where they were when they learned of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.  Cards will be made available. The memory board will be brought to the ceremony on Friday.
