9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Bravery and Sacrifice: NYPD Heroes 9/11 and Beyond, an art exhibit at John Jay College that honors NYPD law enforcement officers who responded to the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center will be on display at the College through the end of the year. Paul Ferrara, Jr. has autism. He obsesses over things sometimes. Right now he loves his patches.   Paul lost his dad, Sgt. Paul Ferrara, on August 28, 2014 to 9/11-related cancer.   At his service, Commissioner Bratton presented Paul Jr. with a challenge coin. His coin collection began and has grown tremendously. Retired FDNY Lt. Gary Howard in Need of Blood/Platelets

Retired FDNY Lt. Gary Howard has serious issues with swallowing and spent this last summer undergoing chemotherapy and radiation at Sloan Kettering for oropharyngeal (mouth) cancer. Unfortunately, after treatments he is now back in Sloan and in need of blood transfusions. Gary was appointed to Squad 3 in 1970, transferred to Engine 28, Ladder 108, and finally Rescue 2 before his promotion to lieutenant. FDNY Firefighter Chris Ryan of Ladder 146 and his wife Dianna are raising money to buy a wheelchair van and to modify their home for their daughter, Emma Grace. Emma is 4 years old. She did not breathe spontaneously at birth and spent the first month of her life in the NICU. She has Ogden Syndrome, an extremely rare and serious illness.
