Downtown Manhattan’s economy soars past pre-9/11 figures

In the November 24, 2015 issue of AMNY, Ivan Pereira and Jason Shaltiel write that Lower Manhattan’s private sector employment numbers are the highest they’ve been since the terrorist attacks of 2001. Lower Manhattan accounts for approximately 10% to New York City’s economy while accounting for only 0.3% of the city’s geographical area.
