Construction begins on Tower of Voices at Flight 93 National Memorial

Construction has begun on the Tower of Voices, the windchime tower that will complete the Flight 93 National Memorial, reports Rachel Prichard of WJAC TV.

The 93-foot-high tower will contain 40 windchimes, one to represent each voice silenced aboard Flight 93 when terrorists hijacked the plane on September 11, 2001. The Tower of Voices will stand at the entrance of the Memorial.

Work is on schedule and the Tower of Voices is expected to open this September.

An audio simulation of the chimes is available here.
