Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage beautifies 9/11 Memorial grounds in Westfield

Several sales associates from the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Westfield West office cleaned up the gardens at the Westfield 9/11 Memorial and planted flowers donated by the Downtown Westfield Corporation on Thursday, April 25 as part of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y.’s regional “Cares Days” event. Cares Days is supporting local communities and organizations that benefit local communities through the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, from April 25-27. The company’s 58 real estate offices are taking part.

In addition to weeding, mulching and planting at the 9/11 Monument in Westfield (which was recently damaged by vandals and is planned to be repaired by the town), the Westfield West office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in undertaking other charitable activities for Cares Days. Sales associates will plant flowers supplied by Fanwood in approximately 30 Main Street planters in the town and clean up and plant flowers at the Hanson House in Cranford for Cares Days. Westfield West is also coordinating with Scotch Plains for a community project at a later date.

“The 9/11 Monument is a very important focal point in Westfield. As an office we decided to help the town and honor the victims of 9/11 by donating our time to clean up and beautify this area,” said Lee Corcoran, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Westfield West sales associate who organized the Westfield 9/11 Monument Cares Days project.

Each Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office and its sales associates will be organizing and took part in a variety of charitable activities during the last weekend in April. These activities include collecting goods for local foods banks and animal shelters, volunteering time with seniors at nursing homes and children at local schools, hosting garage sales to support Habitat for Humanity and Hurricane Sandy relief, planting community gardens, cleaning beaches, taking part in charitable runs and hosting blood drives, among others.
