Brave FDNY firefighter descends 200-foot elevator shaft to rescue four men trapped at Brooklyn Con Edison plant

Firefighter James Dowdell, of FDNY Rescue 2, was lowered 200 feet down an elevator shaft yesterday to rescue four trapped men in a power plant in Brooklyn, reports Thomas Tracy New York Daily News.

Dowdell is the son of Lt. Kevin Dowdell, who was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
