Belleville NJ gets 9/11 memorial courtesy of convicts

A new memorial honoring those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is now on display in the lobby of Belleville Town Hall. The memorial was built by members of Essex County Corrections Department’s Second Chance Program for low-level criminal offenders, reports Matt Kadosh for NorthJersey.com.

The memorial includes a piece of steel from the World Trade Center and a replica of the Twin Towers in a 5’x4′ wood and glass case with blue and red lights.

Three Belleville residents —  Antoinette Duger, Harvey J. Gardner III, and Harry Ramos — were killed in the terrorist attacks.
