9/11 Remembrance underscores value of service, sacrifice and love

A 9/11 ceremony in Brooklyn today emphasized the themes of sacrifice, service, and love, writes Francesca Norsen Tate in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.

Officials from the NYPD and FDNY, the U.S. Army and family members of those killed in the attacks spoke at Borough Hall’s second annual 9/11 Remembrance Service on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.

Family members Vernon A. Richard, II, son of FDNY Captain Vernon Richard, and Evelyn Zelmanowitz, sister-in-law of Abe Zelmanowitz spoke of the love and service their family members displayed.
