9/11 firefighters have greater risk of thyroid, prostate cancers: study

FDNY firefighters who worked at the site of the World Trade Center after the 9/11 terrorist attacks have an elevated risk of prostate and thyroid cancers compared to thousands of firefighters in San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia who weren’t exposed, finds a new study in the latest issue of  the American Journal of Industrial Medicine, writes Gail Kalinosk in DotMed.
