Retired paramedic Joe Cruz spent 17 days at the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks and just received a medal that has been in a drawer for nearly 17 years, reports EMS1.
Cruz now lives in Oregon. The article doesn’t state which agency he worked for. He recently received a phone call from the FDNY requesting his address and received the medal shortly thereafter.
